Week Three, Halfway to the Finals...
Sounds like a Winner!!
Congratulations to this week's winners Chris and Carla Rawlyck, and runners-up Corry Schmelter and Mark Hoppe, who impressed the audience and judges alike with the evening’s highest scores. Winning contestants received a variety of great weekly prizes, including “Etiquette of Jamming” books courtesy of Snow Publishing, Songwriters’ Mic’05 vests courtesy of Imagewear by Mark's Work Wearhouse, event tickets from the Ironwood, as well as great prizes from Axe Music. We continue to be impressed by the receptive audience, the great food and atmosphere of the Ironwood. The outstanding work by Ironwood soundman extraordinaire, Marco Levesque has been acknowledged as being one of the biggest success stories of this year's event.
Marco has had to contend with a variety of instruments on any given night from the usual array of acoustic guitars of all shapes and sizes, stand-up and electric basses, banjos, harmonicas, keyboards, flutes, percussion instruments along with solo and duet vocals. His ability to juggle a variety of the performers needs, demonstrates why Marco has twice been nominated for Sound Engineer of the Year at the Western Canada Music Awards…way to go Marco!
